My report on this year

My year so far in Room 16 by Bree Gibson

My favourite thing about being in Room 16 in 2013 was Camp Kaitawa and being with my friends.

Something I would like to do in term four is enjoy the time with the year sixes improve my maths.     

Something I would like to do next year is get better my computer skills and making better comments.

My dream job would be a famous Netball player.

Reading

The best thing about reading so far this year was the literacy circle.

The best thing I read this year was Ozzie Kingsford, kensuke's kingdom and Dead harry  I loved all these books because dead harry had lots of mystery and kensuke’s kingdom was sad and well written and Ozzie kingsford was a really cool  and it had a good adventure in it.

This is my favourite reading blog post Ozzie Kingsford that I created. I chose it because I really enjoy reading it with my reading group and doing the literacy circle. Now I am reading the other books.

This is my favourite reading post from someone else was Hannah hatchet post. I think it is awesome because she also did a literacy circle and she has done a great with her presentation too.

Maths

The best thing about maths so far this year is mathletics.  

I was most proud of learning about athletics even though I am still doing them. I was proud because at the start I had no idea how to do them but Crighton showed me how so I can do them and they are easy to do now.

This is my favourite maths blog post is fraction with beans  that I created. I chose it because me and Olivia had a great time doing it and it helped me understand more about fraction.

This is my favourite maths post from someone else was Tracey’s and Olivia’s basic facts. I think it is awesome because they have done a great job explaining their data and how they have improved lots.

I am really good at helping other with maths.

I want to get better at my times tables so they can help me when I divide.

Writing

The best thing about writing so far this year is my having great things to write about.

I was most proud of learning about good sentence starter and how to use them I was proud because now when the reader goes to read it they want to read more.

This is my favourite writing blog post is my beans story that I created. I chose it because I really enjoyed writing my beans story and I could relate it to netball.

This is my favourite writing post from someone else is Lily’s dragon writing.  I think it is awesome because she has done a great piece of writing.

I am really good at making up ideas for writing

I want to get better at sharing my writing.

My favourite part of topic has been learning about India I enjoyed it because we got to learn about what they ate and other stuff.

What is air.

The other day our class did a experiment it was about air. I really enjoyed doing it.

What is air ?

Air Exists

Equipment :

• Container filled with H.20
• Jar
• paper towel   

Method

Full the container with water so when you you put the jar in it is level with the water. Then you scrunch up the paper towel and put it into the jar. Then you put the jar upside down in the container. What happens?

Predict :

No I don’t think that it will work because when water hit paper it goes all soggy.

Observe :

Yes it did work because the air inside was like a soft  cushion for the paper towel.

Explain:

The first time we did it most of our paper was dry but the corner was wet because  it was to big and it wasn't pushed in anuff so the next time we did it we made it really small so it just fell out with our last one we did it! This was because we had it touching the sides and in was push in so it didn't get wet.

Yay it worked.

Literacy circle

 Lately my reading group have been reading the book A birthday in the life of Ozzie Kingsford by Val Bird and illustrated by Rebecca Cundy I have a great time reading it. Reflection for the book Ozzie Kingsford

Something I was pleased with was that my group did a great job reading the book and doing their assignments

and we had a lot of fun doing it.

I really enjoyed learning about the adventure that Ozzie had going to the beach on his birthday and having trouble on the way with his family.

Something I found hard was trying to find different Ideas when we were doing the assignments so they weren't all the same. 

My favourite part in the book is were the wasps attack them and they have to walk for ages.                            

My skeleton art

This is my art it is my sister and I.We are skeletons. This art is a collage it has been made out of old magazines I had a lot of fun doing it. What do you think of it. I think it looks really cool.

Lucky for Ethany when she wants to spell a word she can just look in her hair. 

My calender art

Today I finished my calender art. It is a picture of me and I have traced my face and then I colored the dots in and then lightly shaded it.We got the idea from the Roy Lichtenstein art. Here it is please

Optimist yachting day 2

This is my day 2 yachting

8.00 the bus left and in minutes we were at Pandora Pond in the kayaks I shared a double with Tracey I was in the front she was in the back first we went under the bridge and the we went up before you head out to the sea then we went back around the boat and then we had to go under a wire and a low bridge and around a some more boats and back under the bridge again and then we had to go through the current and go back to shore.

Reflection for Yachting

Something I was pleased with was that I stayed in the yacht and didn’t hop out because last time I hopped out early

I really enjoyed learning about how if you watch where the wind is coming from it can help you sail much faster .

Some thing I found hard was kayaking because it was really windy and the water was really ruff.  

Something that made me think was when I am taking do I go to the left or the right.

Something I want to get better at kayaking and be more brave and go in a single kayak more often.

         

Optimist yachting day 1 reflection

Reflection for Yachting

Something I was pleased with was how I had a go even though I didn't like it because the boat keep rocking side to side and I just about fell out.

I really enjoyed learning about how to use the tiller and what not to do because when I was moving the tiller I didn't know how so I kept moving it side to side.

Some thing I found hard was finding the wind and moving the main sheet so it would catch the breeze because sometime we got stuck in the middle of the water and the wind didn't catch it.

Something that made me think was do I pull the tiller right or the left because when you pull it left it goes right and when you pull it right it go left so you have to be careful so you don’t crash into any boat.

                 

Something I want to get better at is being brave and next time go again because this time I had one go when I could've had more and the weather was really good.

Old Sandshoe

                                                                 I hope you like my post :)

 For reading we read a book called old sandshoe I enjoyed reading this book a lot. Read on to learn more    about old sandshoe. This old sandshoe that is the name of the dog he lives with pa. Pa called him old sandshoe because when pa first saw him pa reckoned his face was as ugly as a twisted old sandshoe. I have done a brain storm of what he looks like and what he does and a picture of him.    

The waterbeests and the crocodile

Here is my writing it about two waterbeests that are arguing one think it is a log and the other crocodile.

Ferb slowly walks out of the foggy air to see a creek.

“How are we going to get a across” said Ferb

“I don’t know” said Fred

“Look over there” said Ferb It is a crocodile” said

“NO it is not it is a log” said Ferb

As they were doing this the herd of wildebeests were mooing away with not a slightest bit of interest in them.

“NO NO NO it is a crocodile watch this and Fred threw a stone at the crocodile back it move just a little bit and then stay still again Fred was getting impatient. He poke a stick at the crocodile the crocodile didn't budge. Ferb said “I told you it was a log” Fred face got red and steam came out of his ears Fred push water onto the crocodile Ferb said                                                               “it is a log all your doing is waste your too”.

“Watch this”

said Fred and he jump onto the crocodiles back and he jump and jumped then SNAP!!!.....

    “Oh no” said Ferb

“What is that” asked Freddy isn't it a log

You are kidding me said Ferb.   

Thoughts of a head of hair

This is my poem called: Thoughts of a head of hair. I hope you like it :)

                                  Thoughts of a head of hair    

I am a head of hair

You wash me twice a week

I know it is hard to not pull me out when you brush me

I lose 1000 bits of me every day

So you need to be a bit more careful

Please can you brush me more often so I don’t get as knotty

I like it when you ride on your bike and the breeze goes through your hair and gives me a breeze of fresh air

 It is great to be a head of hair
