Reflection for balloon rocket

·Something I was pleased with was the we ended up doing it.

                                             

·Something I found hard was trying to blow up to the right amount of air into the balloon.

. Something that I was thinking about was where do I connect the tap to the balloon.

. Something that I did was when Tracey and I had a go racing the balloon we did it and we won it.

.Something I would like to achieve next time is to tangle the nylon so it will be much easier.  

                                                     

Race a speed boat

Race a Speedboat

Can you make a paper boat race across the water just by gently touching the surface of the water?

Hypothesis I think the dish washing liquid will make bubbles  and the the bubble will make wave and the boat will move.

Materials

Coloured card, washing up liquid, pencil or sharpie, scissors, large container of water.

Method Cut a piece of paper into any shape and put it into a container and fill it with water put the paper in the container and then put a drop of dish washing liquid and slowly put your finger on the water behind the

boat what will happen.

Observation We put our boat on the water and the dish washing liquid and it was like the boat had an allergic reaction to is because it zoomed away up the water and the force of air made it float.

Conclusion I think that the boat zoomed off was because the dish washing liquid was forcing the boat to move.

Short Experiment to Follow Up

Make Metal Float

Gently place a paperclip on the water’s surface.

Hypothesis I think the paper clip will float because there air is pushing it up.  

Observation When you slowly put the paper clip in it floats it is because the air is holding it up but when you look at it clearly it is almost like there was a dip in the water from where the paper clip.

Conclusion

This one is the paper clip one.

It was so light that it made the water hold it up but when you look it up closely it had a dip in the water it was really cool.

Does air have weight ?

Lately for science we have been doing some experiments to do with air. This one we had to do one about weight. Read my presentation to learn  more. Please comment.

The other day our class did a experiment it was about air. I really enjoyed doing it.

What is air ?

Air Exists

Equipment :

• Container filled with H.20
• Jar
• paper towel   

Method

Full the container with water so when you you put the jar in it is level with the water. Then you scrunch up the paper towel and put it into the jar. Then you put the jar upside down in the container. What happens?

Predict :

No I don’t think that it will work because when water hit paper it goes all soggy.

Observe :

Yes it did work because the air inside was like a soft  cushion for the paper towel.

Explain:

The first time we did it most of our paper was dry but the corner was wet because  it was to big and it wasn't pushed in anuff so the next time we did it we made it really small so it just fell out with our last one we did it! This was because we had it touching the sides and in was push in so it didn't get wet.

Yay it worked.

Yesterday our teacher (Mr M) showed us a really cool game It is called GeoGuessr. This is how the game goes  you get a picture of any place in the world and you have to figure out were it is. How to survive in the bush

If you want to go camping make sure that you follow code if you take a wrong turn it could turn bad in a couple of seconds.

If  you want to go camping with friend or family follow my instruction and you will be safe and have a good holiday.

1.PLAN YOUR TRIP

Make sure you plan your trip look on map s and check on compasses  make sure that you have other places to go if the weather changes it usually does so plan your trip.

2.TELL SOMEONE  

Tell someone who you trust like your friend or family tell them what rutt you are taking, what day your are leaving, what day your are coming back. Once you are home ring the person who you and tell the that you are safe   and at home.

3. BE AWARE OF THE  WEATHER

Be aware of the weather you never know when it might change.You might get stuck in the mountains for over a week that is why you have to pack the right gear.

4.KNOW YOUR LIMITS

When you go camping ask yourself

• Am I up to this level  
• Am I aloud on this land
• Are the people up to this level too
• So know your limits

5. Do I HAVE SUFFICIENT SUPPLIES  

When you go camping ask yourself do I have the right gear.Do I have warm a nuff clothes will I have a nuff food to last the trip and more.Here is a list a gear list.

• Lot of warm jacket
• long sleeved shirts
• long pants
• long socks
• underwear
• big woolly polar fleeces
• thermals
• sun hat
• woolly hat
• waterproof rain coat
• hair bush
• tooth paste
• toothbrush
• deodorant
• plastic bag
• drink bottle
• torch or head light

And there you have it.

So now you know how to be safe in the bush and how to survive in the bush.
